The Simon Street Quartet spent Friday in the recording studio working on our Christmas demo for potential Christmas clients.

Outdoor Wedding done and wet....

Last weekend the Simon Street boldly headed into new territory with our first outdoor wedding reception.

Reception was around 100 people and it did rain not that it mattered, I think the guests quite enjoyed Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head.

So if you want some Jazz outdoors we have it mastered and its a nice change of pace as well.

And of course congratulations to the happy couple!!

Simon Street are looking forward to a busy summer season with a number of engagements all ready booked.

Currently Simon Street is playing at Alpha, weddings and a rowing club social its a good summer.

However there is still some availability if you have a party and want some cool jazz for the night.

Gig at Cragrats Brasserie - Holmfirth

We've just played the 'Cragrats Brasserie' in Holmfirth. It was a corporate night for the member's club. Free access to the chocolate fountain was perhaps not the best idea before a set but was damned tasty.

The venue had a piano so some of our jazz was played on that. We are considering the option of having a few lineup options depending on the venues having a piano. Some of the latin grooves went down well with the audience tonight too which prompts questions of whether to do some covers in the Latin genre.... maybe some Pink Martini.

Jay's looking to sell his kit and get a different bass drum. Does anyone want a 22x22 bass drum? - Undrilled.

Well bed time now but rehearsals again tomorrow.
